Welcome to the Barefoot Contessa! All shoes, all the time (maybe an occasional accessory or other lovely new thing).
I know what some of you are thinking...
Oh dear Lord. ANOTHER Second Life fashion blog? Yesssss. Why? Because I love to shop - especially for shoes. If I could, in my everyday existence I would buy, covet, wear fabulous shoes all day. I'd wear them sky high, and not for attention. I'd wear them home alone too. Shoes make you feel fabulous. Heels, stilettos, platforms, wedges, flats, sandals...even sneakers ("trainers" for those of you in the UK). But alas, my spine (I call her Penelope) is a bee-yatch. She is temperamental, picky and sometimes downright cruel. Every time I look at a pair of heels with my nose pressed against the glass, Penelope gives me a little twinge to remind me: "Don't even think about it."
Thank goodness for Second Life! I get to live out the fabulous shoe lifestyle I've always dreamed of. I can walk in the highest heel with no fear of reprisal. Every time I log on, I bow my head and say a quiet "thank you" to the creators of the shoes, the feet, and the accessories that allow our avatars to soar to heights that we can only DREAM of, but if we dared attempt in real life, would inevitably end up in disaster. I'm talking broken toes, broken ankles, broken faces and broken sexy dreams.
Now I love the Second Life fashion blogs that hip me to what's new and happening on the grid. But I like shoes...a LOT. And when I happen upon something new, seemingly well-made and stylish, I take a peek at the top right corner of the viewer at my Linden bank account and think "I can afford it right?". Let's just try the demo. That's all. That's free. I might not even like them. If I'm lucky, I won't like the style, or the details. Because if I do, I'm a "goner". The deed is done. So why not share? It will save you some time and possibly a few Linden dollars yourself.
I hope you enjoy and get a lot out of this blog. It's my desire to entertain and inform.
As this blog grows, let me know if it's to your liking. If you want to see more shoes, more than shoes or have questions, that hopefully I can answer or find out for you.
The best part of Second Life is the community. And I'm glad to be a part of it.
AJ
